luck and 'lang'

If you read my blog,  you know l always comment on Penang people, and l know, people will sure feed back to me on this one day, and here it is.

I think, my English is not good, hence my blog making some people missunderstanding. I did tell this here: I am also Penang 'lang', l commented on Penang people so much because- 'l care'. Don't think l will comment too much on Thai, Australian or even Chinese. I teach kids and adults, and l think l have seen how Penang's parents influent their kids with typical Penang lang's attitude.

Example 1: One of my workout mom asked her daughter, my dance student to throw rubbish to the drain, l told her: Don't you think you should not teach your kid this way? She said: Cheh! Everybody throws rubbish into drain in Penang la!

Of course not everybody throwing rubbish into drain in Penang, but where is the rubbish from?

Example 2: I always like to make fun and communicate with my students in class, but everytime when l ask: 'Are you ok?'......no answer, 'Do you have any question?'.....no answer, 'Can l continue next step?'.....no answer. This happens in my kids class as well [those above 10 years old, Penang kids are still very 'brave' when they are below 10]

I did tell my kids students, why can't you express your feeling? If l choose you to lead the dance, why you want to run away? Don't you think you should feel happy and proud on this?.....no answer and no action.

I always have to announce news to my students, and as usual, it is always no answer and no feed back. I did tell this here, if my belly dance students support the hafla that l organize, l don't have to hard sell the hafla everytime. Of course many of them supporting the event, but another half of them just don't give any feedback to me everytime. One of my students from KL just asked me this question last month: Why Penang people's life so boring? Why they don't hang around with classmates? Why it is so difficult for them to accept new friend?

I did share this topic with some of my friends too, they told me, they were trained not to trust people easily, therefore they will not make friend with people in short time. Some of my students even told me this, when they first started learning dance from me and l approached them, they thought l have motive and automatically, they guard against me, and it takes years for them to open their hearts to me!

My friends from media line and business line complain a lot of Penang lang's attitude to me too, because they approach many different kind of Penang people in their domain, but the complains are about the same.

This is majority of Penang lang's character, but of course not all Penang lang like this. And l know, l also have Penang 'lang' s attitude sometimes, to me, l will remind myself not to act this way again when l realize it. I think only with 'aware' and ' alert', we are able to improve. But of course, if you feel so comfortable with Penang's environment and majority of Penang people's attitude, l have to congratulate to you, because l know you are a happy citizen in Penang, Penang needs you.

When Penang was listed as World Herritage, l was so happy and l really wish this will awake Penang 'lang' 's love on culture and environment. Will we?

Thank you Mr/Ms Liberal who has given me a great comment on my last blog, l wanted to write this blog for quite some times but there are always too many other topics to share. I was not affected by the rumors of course, l am too busy with my thousand choreographies recently, but l am stressful of whether to tell the reasons of the changers to our workout members, we don't do this usually unless they ask. In fact, we prefer our instructors to tell their students themselves, but sometimes, some students miss the conversation.

To me, this place is where l can share what l have experienced, l just told the experience and my feeling, but this does not mean l am affected with what l have experienced or listened. if l am affected easily, l can't 'tahan' till today.....l just blaar you know, hey l thought people like to read what l blaar because this is real me, or should l just share of happiness only in the future?

Liberal, you are right, l am a very sensitive lady, because l am a dancer and choreographer, 'sensitive' happens to all artists :-)

If people think what Conny has today is all about 'luck' only---thank you, that means l am not hardworking enough in running my career, l will work harder or l scare if my luck disappears one day, l will disappear too......

Eh, l still want to workout and dance, and sharing through teaching la......
